Vermilion Cliffs Cardigan

Vermilion Cliffs Cardigan Designed by Nancy VandivertThe Vermilion Cliffs are part of of the Grand Staircase, a series of alternating cliffs and
slopes stretching from Bryce Canyon at the top of the Colorado Plateau down to the Grand
Canyon. The patterns in this cable remind me of the different layers of rock, the way wind
and water has carved rippling curves along the rock surfaces.

The colors in the rocks are unbelievable. I was fortunate to find a yarn with not only the pinks, but the taupes and grays that characterize this beautiful landscape.

Vermilion Cliffs Cardigan is a fitted, long-sleeved, scoop-necked cardigan that will bring a bit of desert warmth your way when you need it. Sweater pieces are worked flat and then seamed after blocking to size. Read more about this pattern in my post.

Ohm Sock

Ohm Sock Knitting Pattern Designed by Nancy VandivertBack in the Dark Ages (1981), we physics students toiled to make simple circuits with relays, transistors, and even vacuum tubes.

Technology has changed, but the science behind it hasn’t. One of the most simple and elegant is Ohm’s Law.

This Ohm Sock knitting pattern takes your yarn “current” from positive to negative and back again.

Pink Ribbon Mittens

Pink Ribbon Mittens Knitting Pattern Designed by Nancy VandivertPink Ribbon Mittens honors breast cancer survivors. Each mitten is worked in the round. Carry yarns not in used lightly across the back of the work.

Refer to the left and right mitten charts and use stitch markers to delineate side borders from the palm and back of hand patterns.
